Do you offer an upgrade from the Lolin C3 Mini to the newer 8266 board?

I have one of the original Lolin C3 Mini Outdoor monitors, which does not integrate with Home Assistant. Do you offer an upgrade kit with new motherboard to allow the newer software?

There are a few confusing things here.

The original devices were based on the D1 Mini which is an 8266 chip. These were replaced by those with the ESP32-C3 chip which is more capable.

I don’t recall there being an Outdoor monitor that used the older D1 Mini 8266 chip, only the indoor DIY and Pro models, but I could be mistaken.

You can buy just the board for the Open Air outdoor model for $25

If you are looking for Home Assistant integration, there is a beta firmware for the earlier indoor DIY and Pro versions you can flash that does enable HA integration

Or you can also check out ESPHome which has configurations for all available models and integrates with HA with current releases.

Yes, I’m trying to capture AQI, Temp, & Humidity from my outdoor unit which is a Lolin-C3 device.

I’ve managed to modify the code to include a server with the info, but can’t find a way to scrape the data into HA.

I checked the ESPHome website, which has confusing instructions and doesn’t provide info for the Outdoor unit as best as I can tell.

What do you think is my best approach to getting the data into HA? Should I just order the newer motherboard and skip trying to do this myself? I’m 74 years old, an engineer with some experience int his, but I’m finding a broad mess of instructions that are difficult to follow.

I’m still not aware of any Outdoor model that used the socket for the Lolin D1 Mini which is pin compatible with the Lolin C3, so not sure what you have there.

Here is an ESPHome config for the current Outdoor model that has one PM2.5 sensor and one CO2 sensor, but there is another file for the earlier outdoor unit that had 2 PM2.5 sensors, but both use the ESP32-C3 chip that is soldered onto the motherboard, and the stock firmware also support both of these and HomeAssistant integration
