Incorrect readings that fluctuate randomly

Model: I-9PSL-DE

Our AirGradient unit is a few years old, but we have only used it for about a week when was first got it. We just plugged it in again, and the CO2 stays around 3,000 regardless of where we put it (in or outside the house). the VOC level fluctuates widely (both up and down) very quickly regardless of where we put the unit and with no apparent change in the environment. Any insight as to what we could do is appreciated. thank you!

Hi @cwichner, welcome to our community!

Regarding the CO2 readings, I wonder if you have tried performing a manual CO2 calibration? Put your AirGradient ONE outside within your Wi-Fi signal range (you can connect the ONE to a USB power bank). Leave it there running for a while (5 minutes should be good for our test).

Then go to your AirGradient Dashboard, scroll down to the monitor list, click the gear icon on the right of the list of the monitor you’d like to calibrate (example as shown below):

After that, click ‘Edit Calibration’ as shown below:

Select the ‘CO2’ tab on the pop-up window, and then click ‘Request CO2 Calibration’ (shown below) while your AirGradient ONE is still outside, exposing to fresh air with no human or animal close to it.

After a few minutes, the CO2 readings should drop to around 400ppm. Please let me know if this fix the issue or not.

Regarding the VOC, let me gather more information from the team and I’ll get back to you.

Thanks!

Hi @cwichner, would you mind providing us with the serial number of your air monitor via our support form: https://www.airgradient.com/support/ ?

Our team will investigate this. Thank you in advance!
