Factory Calibration Unavailable

I have three monitors - a new P-1PSG, a I-9PSL, and a O-1PST. All were delivered fully assembled. The PM2.5 readings on the I-9PSL and the O-1PST have gone haywire - both reading way under what they should be, I believe. When I checked to see if the factory calibration was applied, I noted that it wasn’t available on those two units (but is on the Go). What has happened? How do I get it back? Please advise. Thank you.

Hi @MMMurphy, hope you are doing well.

Could you please contact us via https://www.airgradient.com/support and provide the serial numbers of your air monitors? We are happy to help.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply.

Hi @MMMurphy - thanks, we received your support ticket.

I checked your monitors, and your AirGradient ONE and Open Air were purchased as DIY kits. DIY kits do not receive individual factory PM calibration before shipment, which is why the factory calibration report is not available for those two monitors.

Also, please note that the AirGradient Go uses a different PM sensor from the ONE and Open Air, so some differences between their PM readings are expected.

For the ONE and Open Air, you can apply our PM batch correction factors to improve the accuracy of the PM measurements. You can find the applicable correction factors and instructions here:

https://www.airgradient.com/documentation/kb/pm-batch-correction-factors

You can also find more information about PM calibration for DIY kits and factory-calibrated assembled monitors here:

https://www.airgradient.com/documentation/kb/pm-sensor-calibration-guide/#diy-kits-and-pre-factory-calibration-assembled-devices

They were absolutely not DIY kits.

Thanks for clarifying, and apologies for the confusion, @MMMurphy.

I can see that your Open Air and ONE were purchased fully assembled, but looking at the pricing on your orders, they were ordered before we started offering individual factory PM calibration with our fully assembled monitors. This is why factory calibration is not available for these two units.

The batch correction factors I linked above can still be applied to improve the PM accuracy of these monitors.
