CO2 levels below 350ppm - how is that possible?

Hi, and apologies for the possibly stupid question, but if the average concentration of CO2 outside is normally somewhere between 350ppm and 400ppm, how come that one of my indoor AirGradient One sensors is reading far below that? For instance, it measured between 250ppm and 300pm on 19th of November.

I have installed the sensors recently, is this part of the “getting to know each other” phase?

Hi @VolkerThiel,

No such thing as a stupid question here! This actually comes up quite often.

The CO2 sensor can take a few days to stabilise its baseline. During this period, values may drift lower.

If it’s been a while since the unit was installed, I recommend doing a manual CO2 calibration:

Place the monitor in fresh outdoor air or right next to an open window. Leave it there for about 5 minutes before starting the calibration.

Go to:
Dashboard > Admin > Advanced Settings > CO2

Press “Request CO₂ Calibration”

Keep people and pets away for a few minutes so exhaled CO2 doesn’t affect the process.

After this, the readings should stabilize.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for the awesome explanation. I will perform a calibration this weekend, if I’ll find the time. This topic can be considered as “resolved”.
