Was it in the evening when you did it? Maybe it went into the night mode and turned off the display?

If you have it setup in the AirGradient Dashboard you could see if it is reporting values, indicating it is just the display.

You could also try manually flashing the firmware again if something might have gotten corrupt, although unlikely

And now its failed again, exactly the same problem, unplugged the usb cable, plugged it back in, the unit is dead.

tried to reflash it and now it just failes saying “prepairing instalation” for ever.

I’m having this same issue with a kit and it happen out of the box. I can’t get support because they only work while I’m asleep. I’m really disappointed and about to ask for a refund.

You’ve tried other USB cables and power adapters? Installed the latest firmware?

I’ve tried other USB cables. I can’t install firmware because it’s not letting me get that far because the motherboard seems to have something wrong with it. The CO2 sensor light will flashes and nothing else happens.

Hi @Troy1, I’m sorry to hear that the device is not working as expected.

Could you please try reflashing the device’s firmware with “Erase device” checked?

You can follow the step here: https://youtu.be/cxCt3U4qsZE?si=E8g9aoQs0O_1oeaU

Please let me know if you encounter any further issues. Thank you!

How can you reflash it when it wont connect at all ??

I have had this twice now, i have just given up. My air gradient device is on the junk pile.

Hi @christyler - happy to send a new mainboard to you. Just submit a support ticket here: https://www.airgradient.com/support/

Tai, I tried connecting to it several different ways and the most I’ve gotten is the serial number and connecting it to wifi for a firmware update that I can’t confirm did anything. The serial number should have been on the box or at least in your original instructions. I don’t want this anymore, I want a refund because your team keeps asking me to do one thing after another and it doesn’t work. Not to mention, I’ve had several people say the same issue has happen to them, so I next to no confidence in another device, especially given the customer service issues. I spent 2 hours working on device that should have been replaced from the moment I reached out.

Hi @Troy1 ,

Thanks a lot for your response.

Since this is a DIY kit, the units are not pre-assembled, so we’re not able to print the serial number on the enclosure. For fully assembled units, the serial number is included on the enclosure.

Because DIY kits are not tested as complete units before shipping, it’s also possible for components to be affected during transit. That’s why we initially asked for a debug log, just to confirm whether this was a hardware-related issue.

That said, we’re happy to move forward and send you a replacement mainboard.

Please just confirm via the existing support ticket, and I’ll take care of the rest.
