I plan to disconnect wifi at night. The router is located close to the bed and it is impossible to move its location. Therefore, from 23:00 to 05:30 there will be no wifi… I would like to know what the future solutions will be in such situations, will additional POE connections be integrated? What will happen with clean air collection points? I tested with an RF meter, after disconnecting wifi, airgradient one emits strong signals when searching for an access point (wifi) is it possible to add an additional (sleep mode) automatic disconnection by time in a future software update for airgradient, for example from 23:00 to 05:30 in the morning?
Hello @LeTuVis! You could put the AirGradient ONE into offline mode and then turn it back online again when needed: Running the AirGradient ONE in Offline Mode | AirGradient Knowledge Base
This is, however, a manual process.
In offline mode, the device will no longer search for WiFi.
At the moment, we do not plan to add PoE to the next version of the AirGradient ONE. We have had limited requests for this, and it would increase the base price of the monitor quite a bit. We are trying to keep the monitor as affordable as possible.
Regarding the Clean Air points and advocate program, it’s not fully bakes yet, so I cannot give a firm answer on that part for now.
If I start turning on/off the device manually every day, it won’t last long… bad decision.

Does this solution will work?
Turning the device off and on shouldn’t have any noticable impact on the life of the device.
Those devices won’t work to provide Ethernet as the unit is not designed to accept those type of adapters. I’m not sure if the ESP32 C3 chip itself can do that at all, but the firmware certainly doesn’t today.
If you use the Offline mode, just know that you won’t get historic data filled into the dashboard when you connect it again.
It’s a bit annoying… solving one problem leads to another.
I think that some people would be willing to pay more for POE between the outdoor and indoor units as well as an ethernet connection from the indoor unit to the internet.

Hi @LeTuVis, unfortunately, our current firmware doesn’t support PoE, and we haven’t had a plan to implement this feature in the near future.
For your use case, it is quite specific and would require changes in the firmware. I could ask our developer if we have a plan to implement this in the future.
understand. Thanks for the answer. Well, as for “specific wishes”, if we only monitor clean (healthy) air, ventilate the rooms so that it is not rised up by VOC and 2.5 particles… and do not pay attention to what food we eat and what water we drink… it makes no sense. If we have already started investing in a healthy environment (air, food, water), we need to pay attention to wifi radiation, especially in the sleeping area and only at night.
