Why doesn't "Disable all LED's" actually disable all LEDs?

Using the Default Web interface “LED Mode OFF” should disable all LEDS. It doesn’t.

At night I often notice a very dim blinking Orange LED somewhere inside the device. As this device is in my bedroom and I’m an incredibly light sleeper, that’s not okay.

How do I disable this blinking LED -PERMANENTLY- Idgaf if it’s a status indicator for anything, if I’m trying to sleep, it’s a hard nope, FOR ANY REASON - other than something actually life threatening.

Am I going to have to open up my device and cover something with electrical tape?

Hi @Scriblet, welcome to our community!

I am sorry to hear about your inconvenience.

Unfortunately, the blinking orange LED is a part of a working component of the SenseAir S8 (CO2 sensor module), which is not controlled by the LED Mode OFF.

It’s not usually recommended to open up your device to put a tape on the SenseAir S8 because it could obstruct the ventilation of the CO2 sensor. However, a workaround to permanently disable the blinking of the SenseAir S8 is to open up the device and disconnect the S8 from the mainboard, which will cause the monitor to be unable to read the CO2 value (which is also not recommended, as CO2 can affect your health).

A practical solution that doesn’t require modifying the device is to relocate it to a different location in the room.
