Why does the accuracy of the assembled and tested model differ from the kit model?

The two models have identical hardware, but the different accuracies are reported at Indoor Air Quality Monitor

  • Accuracy Fully Assembled & Tested Model (I-9PSL-DE_asd): Accuracy PM2.5: ±4μg/m³@0-100μg/m³, ±8%@100-500μg/m³.

  • Accuracy Kit Version (I-9PSL-DE_kit): Accuracy PM2.5: ±10μg/m³@0-100μg/m³, ±10%@100-500μg/m³.

I read somewhere about individual units being calibrated. Is the difference due to assembled units being calibrated and kits not?
Thanks

Hi @Tim,

Assembled units are individually calibrated with our in-house PALAS reference so we can vouch for the accuracy as we assemble them and then test. For the kits, as we do not assemble or test them, the default accuracy specs from the sensor manufacturer are displayed.
