Why does Airgradient One require Internet connection?

Just installed Airgradient One and connected it to my IoT network. By default, this network does Not allow devices to talk to the internet (for security reasons).
It’s up and working fine with Home Assistant, but the left-most LED light is red indicating it does not have access to the Internet.

Why does it require access to the internet?
And if not actually required, how do I turn off that Red LED?

Thanks!

Hi @DaHai8 , welcome to our forum!

No, our device doesn’t require internet connection.

I have a couple of follow up question to better assess the solution for you.

  1. Can you share your monitor configuration. Access using this link locally http://airgradient_84fce60f0aaa.local/config , change 84fce60f0aaa to your monitor serial number.
  2. Do you actually saw data updated on home assistant?
  3. Is the LED actually red or orange?

Notes, don’t ever share your serial number here.

Thanks for the reply!
I did figure it out.
I believe the light was orange (maybe red, hard to tell), and reading through the forums found that it meant it did not have Internet access.
But in Home Assistant in the AirGradient Integration, there is a setting in Configuration for that device called “Post Data to AirGradient”. Once I turned that off, the light turned off.
So, all is well.
Thanks!

Glad you’ve done it yourself @DaHai8 !
