We Need Radon Level Detection

With more and more being know about Radon and what it is and how it causes lung cancer. This is a huge issue in Utah, I had to have my home remediated to reduce the levels, but I want to monitor my level in my smart home setup (Hubitat). However there are no intergratesion out there, there are 2 main companies “EcoSence and Airthings” but would love to get the AirGradient devices since they can integrate. Please consider getting Radon detection added. I would so buy a few and so would friends and family.

Radon: is a colorless, odorless, and tasteless radioactive gas that forms naturally from the decay of uranium, thorium, and radium found in rocks, soil, and groundwater. It is part of the noble gases family and is heavier than air. Radon gas seeps out of the ground into the atmosphere and can accumulate indoors, especially in basements and enclosed spaces, posing health risks due to its radioactivity. Exposure to radon is a leading cause of lung cancer after smoking, mainly from breathing radon decay products trapped in the lungs.

It has been mentioned before, but there wasn’t a cost effective and reliable Radon sensor to integrate. Not sure what AirThings is using for their sensor, or what proprietary code they are using with it.

It’s good to suggest as AirGradient is looking toward the future, but I don’t have much hope/expectation of it being added.

That being said, I’m looking at getting a radon test, either a one-time thing or buying and AirThings

I have the Ecosence Cube and it works great. But want to get it into my smarthome for monitoring. I have seen some devices as low as $50. Home they find something one day.

The ecosense ecoqube looks to be $140 just for radon.

I found a a thread ways to get data into Home Assistant either locally or pulling data from their cloud
