i was wondering if anyone has experienced this issue
i can find the SHT30 on the channel 0x44 but when i run the SHT sample i am not getting the correct readings?

Did you connect the SHT through the AIrGradient board or directly to the D1? Please check all the soldering or cables (if you connect without the board).
