Did you consider the Sensirion SP30 instead of the Plantower PMS5003 to measure particulate matter? Except for the price, were there other reasons to choose the PMS5003?
At the time we made the decision the SPS30 was very new and not much information out there on accuracy and life time.
Now there is more information and it seems the performance of the two sensor modules is quite similar.
Hello,
Given that this discussion is now two years old and we are approaching 2026, it is timely to seek an update. Could you please share any new information or developments regarding this subject?
Specifically, I have heard that the Sensirion SPS30 offers better performance in high-humidity conditions, higher lifespan, and better accuracy for PM10 measurements (compared to Plantower PMS models).
Have any users performed comparative testing to validate these claims?
Furthermore, I would like to know pros and cons of the Plantower PMS7003 and newer Plantower sensor models might have over the popular 5003.
Thanks!
We’re actually testing the SPS30 right now so might have an update on its performance. I believe we’re also testing one of the newer Plantower models.
