Random I-9PSL disconnection until rebooted?

Last night our indoor sensor stopped talking to the servers, with no externally visible problem. 10 hours later, it still hadn’t reconnected, and the CO2 sensor was happily blinking every few seconds as usual. When I power cycled it, it immediately reconnected.

Possibly a firmware crash? Is there any logging or anything I can provide to troubleshoot?

Hi @pcag , do you happen to see purple or yellow light on the most left of the monitor turned on when its not “talking to the server”?

I have all the lights disabled, so when this was happening there wasn’t any externally visible indication.

After rebooting it reconnected, so turning the LEDs on now wouldn’t tell us anything. I was hoping there might be some persistent log that would give a clue to a rare occurrence.

No persistent logging. If you have the USB cable connected to a computer you can view the logs with a serial monitor or using the Firmware link. There is an option to view logs instead of upload firmware.

Yeah, that’s what I thought. That would of course require unplugging it from the power adapter, at which point it would have lost the logs.

Maybe the firmware could respond to pressing the button on the back by writing out some persistent log or diagnostic that can be subsequently retrieved? Then at least when there’s a mysterious (and rare) failure there’s some way to troubleshoot.
