Noise reduction

Hi,

I have just bought an AirGradient One. It hangs in my study.
Now I’ve noticed that the device makes a quiet noise when it’s running. It sounds as if a small fan is constantly running.
I’m sitting about 2 meters away with my back to the device and can hear it constantly in a quiet room.
Is there a way to turn this noise off? A “quiet mode” if necessary?

I suspect that the noise is coming from the PM sensor. Could I simply unplug it if I don’t need it?
Of course, a software solution would be best.

Is this behavior normal? Do you have a similar behavior and possibly a solution for it?

Normally the PM sensor is very quiet. If you don’t need it, you can open the device and just unplug the cable.

Alternatively you can contact our support and we send you a replacement.

I’m pretty sensitive to constant noises and my Ikea PM sensor had a certain sound to it when it ran. I’ve never heard any of my AirGradients throughout my house, even when I’m right next to them.

I do have one low quality USB power adapter that makes a chattering sound when devices are connected to it that I’ll replace one day, but the PM2 sensor in my AirGradient is basically noiseless to me. So perhaps yours is malfunctioning.
