No Calibration option available for PMS5003-20250116

Pretty much as the title says.

Having the classic PM1, 2.5, 10 issue, but no calibration option is available for the PMS5003-20250116 yet.

What is the best workaround for this?

Hopefully someone from the AirGradient team replies with an official answer, but I would apply the most recent batch corrections for now so you start getting closer data if you are consistently seeing 0.

Once the level gets high enough it will still be accurate, but at low values it needs the corrections

Hi @jrgilman! First of all - welcome to the community!

Thank you for bringing this up. We’re working on making a calibration option available for the new PM sensor batch soon. For the moment, the best workaround would be what @MallocArray has already described.

An update here: the calibration formula for PMS5003-20250116 should be available in the dashboard early next week!

I still don’t see it . . . Did this get done yet?

Hi @tadawson, yes this was added a while ago:

Look for custom formulas for indoor monitors.

If you can’t see it on the dashboard, it’s possible that your monitor type is set incorrectly.

Under ‘hardware’ on the dashboard, ensure your monitor has the right ‘model’ assigned. If this is different, it may explain why you’re not seeing the calibration formula.

OK, since this is pretty new to me (had my monitor about 2 weeks) I just realized that this thread is about indoor monitors, and I have been seeing the same underreporting of pm2.5 with my outdoor monitor, for which I found the three 2024-? calibration files (the most recent of which has my unit tracking with others pretty well, as opposed to 2x to 3x off.

Looks good in Home Assistant and the Air Gradient dashboard, but still seeing errant figures on the Air Gradient map which don’t track the AG dashboard, in spite of the contributor name on the map entry confirming that I am looking at my site.

I too am seeing low/zero PM2.5 values on my recently purchased Open Air O-1PST. My sensor S/N is PMS5003T-20241222.

I don’t find a specific calibration set for this particular batch. Is there one forthcoming, or should I use one of the existing ones? Please advise, thank you.

Hi @cragen,

I’ve just checked and I don’t believe we have this calibration formula yet. I will ask our team to create one as soon as possible.
