LED Brightness settings are not being honoured - I-9PSL-DE (3.1.4)

Hello,

I have purchased I-9PSL-DE on (Nov 4th 2024) and I cannot seem to change LED brightness settings. Firmware version is 3.1.4

Here is what I have tried so far:

  1. Navigated to General Settings, LED&Display tab, day and adjusted day to be 08:00-21:00 (Place Settings)
  2. Adjusted Screen and Led brightness to %10 and clicked Save. That did not work. (Place Settings)
  3. Power cycled the device and that did not work.
  4. I adjusted the day and led brightness settings on the location level instead of place. Clicked saved, that did not work. Power cycled and that did not work either.
  5. I have removed and added the device back to the dashboard and followed steps 1-4, and still no luck.

Software seems pretty straight forward with 2 layers. If location settings are set then it overrides place settings. If not, it follows place settings.

What am I missing here?
What is the expected time for a settings to take effect on the device after clicking save?

Thank you in advance

I’m also experiencing the same issue here and tried similar steps to you to diagnose and haven’t managed to get it to work.

On which firmware version are you?

I’m on firmware 3.1.13

Hi @bbedizci and @NymKhedan , welcome to the forum!

To help me better give solution to you, can you share your monitor configuration? You can do that by accessing this url on your browser http://airgradient_{SERIAL NUMBER}.local/config. Change {SERIAL NUMBER} to your monitor serial number.

By the way, do you happen to change configurationControl configuration locally?

Please never share your monitor serial number publicly

Hi Samuel,

I am not sure how to change configurationControl locally. So I am guessing I haven’t done it.
I have used the following url to modify my settings.
https://app.airgradient.com/settings/place?tab=3

Here is my configuration file

{
“country”: “CA”,
“pmStandard”: “ugm3”,
“ledBarMode”: “co2”,
“abcDays”: 8,
“tvocLearningOffset”: 12,
“noxLearningOffset”: 12,
“mqttBrokerUrl”: “”,
“temperatureUnit”: “c”,
“configurationControl”: “both”,
“postDataToAirGradient”: true,
“ledBarBrightness”: 100,
“displayBrightness”: 100,
“offlineMode”: false,
“model”: “I-9PSL-DE”,
“monitorDisplayCompensatedValues”: false
}

Looks like firmware still on 3.1.4, could you upgrade it first, and see if that works? You can go to General Setting âžť Firmware Tab âžť and choose firmware 3.1.13 âžť Save.
To make the monitor directly do the update, you can try reboot/power cycle the monitor after you choose the firmware version.

Also, could you send us your serial number through our support, and refer this forum link to the message box.
Just follow this link: https://www.airgradient.com/support/

Here is my config, it doesn’t seem to be showing the same values as what’s displayed in the app on the edit location page.

{"country":"TH","mqttBrokerUrl":"","configurationControl":"both","pmStandard":"ugm3","temperatureUnit":"c","postDataToAirGradient":true,"ledBarBrightness":100,"displayBrightness":100,"ledBarMode":"co2","tvocLearningOffset":12,"noxLearningOffset":12,"abcDays":8,"model":"","offlineMode":false,"monitorDisplayCompensatedValues":false}

For anybody else who may come across this, I was having the same issue but it seems to have started when I pulled my AirGradient boxes into Home Assistant. Whatever the LEDs were when I pulled them in, they are now stuck at that brightness.

I can now adjust the LEDs using Home Assistant. Also guessing that is why my “configurationControl” somehow changed itself to “local”(?)

Hello Samuel,

I have checked my firmware version and it is on 3.1.13.

I will send my serial number & link of this forum for further investigation as requested.

Just for more info for future users. When pulled into Home Assistant, it changes it to “local” mode. Via HA, I changed it back to “cloud” and things are working as expected.
