IQAir station intermittently stops updating while OpenAQ shows continuous data

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing a recurring issue with my AirGradient station:

Station name: Manthana 2 Bangna KM.7
Location: Thailand

Issue:
The station appears on IQAir and updates normally for about 24 hours, then stops updating again (e.g., last update shown was 05:00 Feb 21).

However:
• The device is online
• PM2.5 calibration is set to Raw Data
• AirGradient dashboard shows continuous readings
• OpenAQ shows continuous data with no gaps or null values

There are no visible spikes or abnormal patterns in the PM2.5 data before IQAir stops updating.

After contacting IQAir, the station resumed once, but then stopped again the next day at a similar time (around 05:00).

This makes me suspect a recurring ingestion or mapping issue on the IQAir side — but I’d like to confirm whether anyone else has experienced something similar with AirGradient → IQAir integration.

Has anyone encountered intermittent IQAir updates despite clean continuous data on OpenAQ?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you

Hi @zwebeck - this does sound like an IQAir side issue but would be good to know if anyone else in the community has seen something similar.

Hi @zwebeck, welcome to our community.

I can confirm that I also experience this. As @Altair_AirGradient mentioned, there seems to be something to do with the IQAir side (the process of data going from OpenAQ to IQAir).

@zwebeck Also, this might be helpful. In addition to the AirGradient dashboard, we have our AirGradient Map app that is now available on both Android and iOS. It displays real-time air quality data. You can configure your monitor using the app as well.

We are consistently improving the app, and I’d say we’ve come a very long way from day 1. Would appreciate it a lot if you could try and give us some feedback!

Sorry for this shameless self-promotion, but I’d recommend trying this as I’m also a part of those who test the app!

Thanks for sharing the app suggestion — I just downloaded it and I have to say, it’s really well done

The real-time display is smooth and the UI feels much more polished than I expected. Configuration through the app is also very convenient.

From what I can see, my station data looks stable and continuous in both the dashboard and the app, which makes the intermittent IQAir update issue even more puzzling.

I’ll definitely continue testing the app and share feedback if I notice anything interesting.

Thanks again for the recommendation
