Gutter Mount for Outdoor Monitor

I have an outlet under the roof overhang for holiday lights and thought it would be a good place to plug in the outdoor unit since it’s already protected from the elements. And close to the outlet is a gutter downspout. I figured this would make a great spot to mount the unit instead of drilling permanent holes in the side of the house. So I came up with a 3D printed bracket that snaps tightly on to the standard 3" downspout and has tabs for the screw-mount holes in the outdoor unit.

This is great. By any chance, do you also have a photo of the actual device mounted on the gutter?

Just curious, do you have any issues with wifi signal? The attenuation of the RF going through a brick wall would be large, and then the device being mounted on a large metal object would not neccesarily help matters.

Where is your WiFi AP in relation to this device?

The router is in the basement and under ductwork, so it’s not the ideal location for anything. I’m contemplating moving in the future. The indoor unit is about 6’ from the router and its signal is -52. The outdoor unit is about 20’ from the router and its signal is -71. Certainly a drop being outside. Metal can be a signal blocker or in some cases, a reflector. However, I don’t pretend to be a propagation expert.
