Does AirGradient REQUIRE a hub like Home Assistant to work?

Hi there! I just purchased the AirGradient ONE Indoors (Fully Assembled).

I am a bit lost in regard to what the pre-requisites are to begin using it.

Specifically, do I need to now purchase something like Home Assistant to use the AirGradient?

Or, is the AirGradient an out-of-the-box solution?

All I am looking to do is monitor my PM2.5 indoors.

Thanks so much in advance for your help.

Try this: https://app.airgradient.com/onboarding/setup/sensors

But I would greatly suggest to do some reading around the AirGradient website in the Documentation section. But the AG DashBoard has a lot of valuable information too.

Thanks, @gabrieLL ! I should mention that I do not have the AirGradient yet as I just placed the order today (so I can’t complete any onboarding).

No worries, it works via cloud through the app.airgradient.com.

I have HomeAssisstant on a Raspberry Pi5 and the integration was smooth. The device was discovered automatically by HA. I can choose in HA whether I want LOCAL or CLOUD based configuration. However , It looks there are a bit more options to set in the cloud dashboard. Especially the EPA correction algorithm which was needed with my PM sensor. It sends data to cloud-app and to my local-HA at the same time. As I mentioned , until your device arrives I would suggest to do some reading on the website.

Thanks so much. Appreciate your help. I will take a look.

No hub required. The cloud dashboard mentioned above gives you access to the measurements taken by your unit. At the moment, access to this dashboard is free. In the future, a small fee will be introduced, but basic features will remain free. See here for more details about this.

All in all, the AirGradient units offer various options for accessing and collecting the data, depending on your technical skills and privacy preferences/requirements.
