Cannot find access point, trying to reduce tx power but how?

Hi,

I bought a kit of the outdoor sensor (O-1PST) and a few Indoors (I-9PSL). I built the outdoor and 1 indoor and both are having wifi problems, mainly my iPhone or Mac can’t find the SSID for the initial configuration. I used the browser flasher to flash v3.1.13 on both, I view the logs via the browser and see that they both publish the SSID airgradient-XXXXXXX but my phone can’t find it.
I searched online and found this post that says to touch the wifi antenna. I touched it and I do see the wifi but I can’t join it, so I guess I need to lower the TX power.
I found this thread that says to reduce the tx power but where exactly do I add these lines?

Also, am I in the right direction? I couldn’t find on the forums any reference to this issue, but maybe it is a known issue and it is not the tx power?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Pretty unusual. Can you check with your computer or another phone if you see the SSIDs there?

So I tried using 2 iphones and my mac but they couldn’t see the airgradient wifi, BUT I was able to get a hold of an old hp laptop running windows and it was able to connect and configure both sensors.

If anyone encounters the same issue, get a windows laptop!

Thank Achim for the help!

I have the feeling your phones are only looking at the 5GHz band and the AP from the sensor is in the 2.4GHz band. That’s why the old laptop works.
