Airgradient Open Air - Off-grid Solar powered

Hi All,

Just received my Open Air.

Have powered the Open Air via 50W Solar Panel with 12v battery backup for night hours.

Using an old photography light stand to attached the Open Air.

3D printed ABS mounting clip for the stand and the Open Air enclosure. Open Air simply slides on and off the clip.

Hey this is great.

What exactly do you use for voltage conversion and charge management?

Hi Achim,

I am using Eco Worthy solar charge controller. This has 2 USB ports which I have plugged the Open Air into 1 port and a cooling fan into the 2nd port. The charge controller handles the power management from the solar panel or from the battery.

Here is Dubai we have sufficient sunlight to power the Open Air + a pc cooling fan inside the battery box and top up the battery each day.

Awesome project Scott, I used to live in sustainable city but move to Riyadh and added a sensor to my backyard that you can see on the map now. Luckily I have an outlet but this is a great idea to make this usable off grid and portable. I often wondered how the air was further out Qudra.
