Air Gradient One Indoor Setup using Android is confusing and not complete

I scanned the QR Code on the included card. It brought up instructions to allow me to add to the dashboard. The instructions then had me switch my phones wifi to be the hotspot for the sensor. That lost internet connection. The webpage on my phone put an overlay on top of the instructions which may it impossible to read.
I asked ChatGPT for help. It told me to use the browser and connect to the IP address of the sensor to finish setup.

To be honest, my first experience with this monitor is not good. This should have be an easy setup.
The address ChatGPT told me to use was: http://192.168.4.1

Hi @Steve_Conley, welcome to our community, and thank you so much for your honest feedback.

As an alternative to the conventional Wi-Fi portal that could be quite confusing, we currently have an AirGradient Map mobile app (available on Android and iOS) that helps with Wi-Fi provisioning using Bluetooth, so the phone doesn’t need to disconnect from your home Wi-Fi to connect to the AirGradient’s hotspot.

Although we currently see some Bluetooth issues on Android 16. We are working on it and will constantly try to improve our app.

For the overall process, we have also been improving the whole user experience to be more seamless. I will bring this up with my team about your feedback to make sure that the user experience is improved and as convenient as possible for all users.

Please feel free to let me know if you would like to give any other feedback or if you have any questions. I am very happy to help.

In case you would like to learn more about the AirGradient air monitor, you can take a look at our knowledge base articles at https://www.airgradient.com/support/ .

Thanks for the reply. I did not realize the app would show sensor values. I’ve installed it and it is working well.
