I haven’t seen any further mention of Home Assistant for the Max. I think it will need a whole new Integration for the cellular connectivity so HA can pull the data from the online Dashboard site instead of directly from the device.
Don’t know about that, but I would assume that in the very least adjusting the existing integration to poll the Air Gradient Max over wifi should be relatively straightforward.
I don’t know if the current HA integration is expected to find it if using Wifi, I had only tested it for a short while and then went back to Cellular for further testing.
I would strongly assume it uses mDNS to discover new devices on the local network.
The firmware status is pretty incomplete in my opinion. As you found you can’t specify a firmware version in the Dashboard for the Max, but it will change firmware if you manually flash up to a newer one.
You could use the Support page on the main site and give them your serial number and ask them to set your device to the latest firmware, which I think is 0.7.0. They have set mine to specific versions in the past during testing.
THIS actually sounds like a bigger issue than the lack of support for HA
@Altair_AirGradient what is your current recommendation? NOT to upgrade at all? Or would you say that main site / documentation / firmwares (for some reason I cannot repost the link) needs to be updated with the latest binaries?
Yes, we’re still working on firmware and even the hardware. When things stabilize on those fronts, I would expect updates on integrations.
Not to pressure you @Altair_AirGradient at all, but would you say that it’s realistic you will “come around” to the integration in ~3-4 months? I’m fine with it being (much) more, it’s just that I would need to start looking now into “alternative solutions” as a bridge for this season
The information itself is valuable to me, even if it is “negative”.
