AirGradient OneV9 Indoor - 0 for all PM readings

How did you make the house dusty/smokey? For example, typical house dust is much bigger than 2.5 microns. It would correctly not be detected by the PMS5003 sensors.

The PMS5003 and PMS5003T should give you a strong response when you extinguish a candle ca. 1 meter away. An extinguishing candle normally emits a lot of airborne particles below 2.5 microns. You should also see a clear (probably less intense) signal when spraying deodorant or fragrance next to the sensors.

Interesting, extinguishing a candle does indeed give a very large response, and actually seems to go off the scale when the sensor is above the smoke from the candle, and over the following 20 mins or so returns to 0.

I think Im just very surprised the level is 0 most of the time (across 1, 2.5 and 10um), and has been for over a week, while I dont feel like the air has been that good. Also when I first plugged it in I was getting 20-50 as my normal reading, then one day it changed so that 0 was my normal reading and virtually no variation (except up to 1-2 once per day).

have you tried taking it outside for awhile? I almost always get a reading 5+ outside, but my indoors is regularly 0-3

Interesting, I think Iā€™ve used previous sensors and got much higher readings (20-70), but perhaps they were in the summer and affected by pollen and other thingsā€¦

Combined with the fact that a friend (who works in air quality monitoring) told me London has a poor air quality problem at the moment due to events in Ukraine , evidently that is just related to metrics I canā€™t measureā€¦
